Belarus to spend Br35 bln by 2010 to convert Chernobyl-affected enterprises

In 2006-2010 Belarus will spend over Br35 billion to convert the worst Chernobyl-affected businesses of Gomel and Mogilev oblasts, premier Sergei Sidorskiy said at the parliamentary hearings today.
According to him, the conversion will be carried out in 18 enterprises of Gomel oblast and in 6 – of Mogilev oblast. These businesses will be granted necessary equipment to build up a good material and technical base ultimately to come up with eco-friendly goods.
Belarus launched the conversion program in 2002 , Sergei Sidorskiy reminded. Around Br30 billion were spent in 2002-2005 to convert 12 enterprises in Gomel oblast and 6 – in Mogilev oblast under the program.
