Belarus president greets participants of 2nd Slavonic Nations Convocation
10 April 2006
Chairman of the Union State's Supreme State Council, Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko sent his greetings to participants of the 2nd Convocation of Slavonic Nations of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. The convocation is scheduled to open in Minsk today.
The Belarusian president's press service told BelTA, in particular, the greeting reads, "Today's Slavonic movement is in great demand. It has a huge development potential, as it enjoys wide public support.
I am convinced that mutual attraction of our nations is stronger than repeated attempts to seed dissent between brotherly Slavs. Nobody can make us oppose each other, disseminating raw national interests in human souls.
Together we are strong. Only together we will be able to repulse external challenges, preserve our traditions and attractive Slavonic character. Deepening the integration of our states, intensifying the process is the right way to the future prosperity".
