Belarus oil refineries need to develop network of filling stations abroad

28 January 2010
GOMEL, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarusian companies need to develop their own network of filling stations abroad, first of all in Russia and Ukraine, First Vice-Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said at a session of the Gomel oblast executive committee. According to Vladimir Semashko, this pertains to Mozyr oil refinery and Belorusneft production association. Filling stations can be opened in the frontier oblasts – Bryansk, Chernigov, Zhitomir. According to the estimates, proprietary retail sale will help boost revenues by 20-30%, which will improve the performance of Belarusian oil producing and oil refining companies. As for the resources necessary for the construction of a network of filling stations, Vladimir Semashko mentioned a Chinese loan given to Belarus at the interstate level. “Take $200-300 million of the loan. The loan is given under favorable terms with a 5-year grace period. All the costs will be covered by the time the first payment is to be made,” he said.
