Alexander Lukashenko wants Minsk centre reconstruction done on schedule

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has expressed a positive opinion about the new Hotel d’Europe built in Minsk. Sharing his impressions after seeing the hotel, the head of state said, it is a quality building. “The centre of Minsk is turning out to be beautiful,” remarked the President of Belarus. While visiting the hotel, Alexander Lukashenko demanded the reconstruction of the oldest part of the Belarusian capital and the city’s infrastructure as a whole should be done on schedule. The President added, tenders should be arranged for choosing subcontractors and investors for construction projects. “The winner, the one who comes up with the best variant, will build. The same applies to all large and important facilities of Belarus, including the High-Tech Park,” noted the Belarusian head of state. “Everything should be done in an honest and open manner”. Minsk Mayor Mikhail Pavlov told media, as the President had visited the Hotel d’Europe, the head of state had been informed about future plans for developing the Belarusian capital. “The President approved our approaches and wished to visit a historical object — Loshitsa Estate that we are restoring now,” noted the Mayor. In his words, in the nearest future Minsk City Hall plans to suggest that the President should be made familiar with the progress in building sport facilities in Minsk, reconstructing the building of the National Beauty School, should take part in opening two new metro stations in November. According to Mikhail Pavlov, Alexander Lukashenko had also expressed a desire to take part in laying the foundation stone of the Student Village.
