2007 announced Year of the Child in Belarus

2007 has been announced the Year of the Child in Belarus, president of this country Alexander Lukashenko has stated today in Zhlobin. According to the Belarusian leader, this year Belarus’ leadership has taken serious steps to protect children and to enhance responsibility of negligent parents. “Next year we will do everything possible to protect our children”, Alexander Lukashenko underlined. When summing up results of 2006 – the Year of the Mother – the president underlined that for the first time a population increase was registered in the country. “This is the main result of the work of the health care and educational systems”, the president said. At the same time he expressed gratitude to the Belarusian women. “Children are our future”, the head of state underscored.
